Teenager found with 54 wraps of heroin, cocaine and knife on him

A teenager who fled police officers on his bike with 54 wraps of heroin and cocaine on him has been jailed.

Mason Knight, of Fenton Drive in Bulwell, was stopped by police officers on patrol in Radford at around 10am on May 14.

The officers noticed he was the same teenager who had fled from them a few weeks previously.

He again tried to ride away on his bike but was detained.

Officers searched for drugs and a lock-knife was seized from his waistband.

In custody, officers then found 54 wraps of white powder which turned out to be heroin and cocaine.

He was charged with possession with intent to supply and possession of a bladed weapon and pleaded guilty to the offences at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on May 15.

He was then sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, June 26 and jailed for 29 months.

Police Constable Kulwinder Bazaz, from Nottinghamshire Police who led the investigation, said: "We're glad to have taken another knife and drug offender off the streets.

"I'd like to thank the officers on patrol for their tenacity and persistence having been suspicious of Knight when they first came across him.

"We take a zero tolerance approach to drug dealing on our streets as it fuels crime and preys on the most vulnerable people in our society."
