Police are continuing their investigation into an armed hold-up in broad daylight, in which a teenager was threatened with a knife and forced to hand over his mountain bike late last month.
The 16-year-old boy was riding west along Glebe Road at Adamstown about midday on August 29 when an unknown man approached him.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the man threatened the teenager with a knife and demanded he hand over the bike.
"The teen surrendered his bike and the unknown male rode off in an easterly direction along Glebe Road," she said.
The Newcastle Herald understands the mountain bike was a Merida-branded dual suspension model - black with some orange on the frame.
Police want anyone with information - including dashcam footage from the area around the time of the hold-up - to contact them. Tips can be passed on anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
