Teenager fighting for life after horror car crash in Fife

A teenager is fighting for life after a horror car crash in west Fife.

The smash on the A985 at the junction with Clinkum Bank involved a Ford Ka and a Ford Fiesta at around 9.30pm on September 13.

An 18-year-old male passenger from the Ford Ka was taken to Western General Hospital in Edinburgh with a serious head injury.

His condition has been described as critical but stable.

The other occupants of the Ford Ka are being treated at Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn from Fife's Road Policing Unit urged the public to come forward with any information about the incident: "Our thoughts are with all affected by this tragic road traffic collision yesterday.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured it with dash cam footage to come forward.

"Anyone who can help is ask to call Police Scotland quoting Incident 4269 of Friday, September 13, 2019."

Sergeant Quinn added: "The road was closed for a few hours to allow crash investigations to be carried out and I would like to thank everyone affected by the road closure for their patience."
