Teenager fighting for life after horrific crash between two cars in Fife

An 18-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash between two cars on a road in Fife.

It took place on the A985 at the junction with Clinkum Bank around 9.30pm on Friday.

A Ford Ka and a Ford Fiesta were involved and the injured man was a passenger in the Ka.

He suffered a serious head injury and is in a critical condition at the Western General hospital in Edinburgh.

Other occupants of the Ka are being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn from Fife's Road Policing Unit said: "Our thoughts are with all affected by this tragic road traffic collision yesterday.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured it with dash cam footage to come forward. Anyone who can help is ask to call  Police Scotland quoting Incident 4269 of Friday, 13 September 2019.

"The road was closed for a few hours to allow crash investigations to be carried out and I would like to thank everyone affected by the road closure for their patience."
