Teenager dies after 'stolen' scrambler bike crashes into car

A teenager has died after a suspected stolen scrambler bike he was riding crashed into a car.

The 18-year-old man was riding the motorbike with another 18-year-old male when it collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan car at 8.40pm on Booker Avenue, Allerton, close to West Allerton train station.

Merseyside Police said the suspected stolen motorcycle is believed to have been travelling in tandem along Booker Avenue with another scrambler, neither of which had their lights on, when the crash occurred.

The second rider of the motorbike suffered serious injuries and is being treated in hospital.

The Tiguan car had two children, aged nine and 11, on board although they are not understood to have suffered serious injuries.
