Teenager denies possessing firearm with intent to endanger life

A 16-year-old boy has denied being part of a conspiracy to have a firearm to endanger life.

He indicated a "not guilty" plea when asked by District Judge Leo Pyle at a special sitting of Nottingham
Youth Court.

The boy, who is currently injured and unable to move without help, is too young to be named in public.

He is the tenth male - and the youngest - to be charged with the offence in the city which covers dates from May 8 to 30.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court shortly where his legal team will apply for bail.

At the magistrates' court, he was represented by solicitor John Pendlebury who said that the ten might have to wait until April 2020 for their trial.

The case was outlined by Sanjay Jerath for the Crown Prosecution Service during the 65-minute hearing.

All ten are currently in custody after three faced a judge at the crown court following an appearance before magistrates.

The full charge reads that "between May 8 and 30 they conspired together with other persons to have in their possession a firearm with intent to endanger life."
