A teenager was chased by a armed man while waiting for a lift outside a north Dublin garda station.
The young lad was waiting for a lift outside Finglas Garda Station when he was approached by the middle-aged man on Thursday evening at around 6pm.
The man told the boy he was going in to the garda station to pick up his bible.
When the man returned he demanded the teen get out of the seat he was sitting on or he would "feel the wrath of God".
After initially brushing off his ranting, the teen got up to walk away, before being pursued by the man wildly swinging a big plank of wood.
The boy thankfully managed to get away from his pursuer and get home, and his concerned mother took to Facebook to warn her fellow locals.
The post read: "My 14 year old lad was jogging tonight on his own about 6pm, and was waiting for me at Finglas Garda station when it started to rain.
"He was sitting down and some 40 year old man starting saying weird stuff to him, he thought it was funny at first.
"The guy then told him to get off the seat he did and started to walk off, my lad looked back and the scumbag was running at him with a big plank of wood he took from the gym car park.
"He hid behind a car and managed to get back up to meet me.
"Reported to the guards he was wearing a black jacket, black beanie hat and had a shopping bag."
Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana about the ordeal.
