A teenage boy has been charged with murder after a man was died from his injuries inside a car in north London.

The 15-year-old was detained on Friday afternoon on suspicion of murder and is being held in custody.

On Wednesday, officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to reports of an injured man who had been found unresponsive inside a car near Tottenham Hale tube station.

Gabriel Bringye, 37, was found in a vehicle on Jarrow Road with an injury “consistent with having been stabbed”, the Met said.

Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene” at 8pm, a statement said.

His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by officers.

The investigation is being led by homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command.

The unnamed teenage suspect was also arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to a separate offence.

He has since been charged with murder and handling stolen property.

He appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Saturday and has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
