A teenage motorbike rider will face court over a slew of offences after a multi-vehicle crash in Newcastle.
The 18-year-old man was served a court attendance notice on Tuesday July 28 for ten offences including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of City and Brunker Road in Adamstown about 5.35pm on November 26 last year.
At the scene, officers found an unregistered motorbike and five vehicles had collided.
The rider of the motorbike, then 17 years old, was treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
His passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to the John Hunter in a stable condition.
Both have since been discharged from hospital.
The five drivers of the other vehicles were not injured and were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene and began an investigation.
Following police inquiries, the now 18-year-old male driver was also charged with cause bodily harm by misconduct while in charge of a motor vehicle, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, driver never licensed, and using an unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle on road.
He was also charged with use uninsured motor vehicle on road, ride without helmet with one passenger without helmet and not stop before lights at red light.
The teenager was due to appear before a children's court on Tuesday August 11.
