A teenager has been charged with attempted murder over an early morning incident in Rutherglen which left a man in critical condition in hospital.
The incident occurred just after midnight on Farmeloan Road, with an 18-year-old man to appear at the Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Friday).
Lanarkshire Live reported on Thursday how a 51-year-old man was said to be 'fighting for his life ' as police continued to investigate the scene.
A police spokeswoman told us : "An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Rutherglen.
"Around 12.05am, police received a report a man had been seriously assaulted in Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen.
"The 18-year-old is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday."
