Teenager charged over stabbings outside shisha bar named by police

Police today named a teenager charged over a brawl which saw four people stabbed as violence erupted outside a city centre bar.

Two other teenagers, a woman and man both aged 19, were also arrested over the knife attacks outside the Truth Lounge shisha bar, on Myrtle Street, on the morning of Sunday September 20.

Four men, aged 24, 25, 28 and 30, were wounded in what police termed a "large scale fight" at about 1.20am.

One victim suffered serious wounds to his abdomen, and police confirmed he remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Today Merseyside Police said a 19-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent.

Paul Anderson, of Princes Road, Toxteth, was remanded in custody to appear in Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning.

The other 19-year-old man and the 19-year-old woman, both arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, have been released on conditional bail.

Pictures from the scene showed a huge police presence on Myrtle Street and a large cordon.

Several police vehicles could be seen, with reports of a helicopter being flown above.
