A 15-year-old boy has been barred from using Dart trains after gardai charged him with a spate of robberies at south Dublin stations.
The teenager, who cannot be identified because of his age, appeared at the Dublin Children's Court.
He is accused of seven robberies and one attempted robbery, which occurred earlier this month.
The first is said to have taken place on January 8, an attempted robbery of a male at Seapoint Dart station.
The teen is accused of taking a phone and a €600 e-scooter from a male, and another phone from a second male, at Sandycove Dart station on January 11.
He allegedly robbed five other males of their mobile phones at Shankill Dart station four days later.
Judge Paul Kelly granted bail subject to conditions: a 10 pm – 8 am curfew, not using the Dart system, and remaining 100 metres from any Dart train station.
The judge ordered him to appear again next month for the DPP to issue directions to investigating gardai.
The teenager, accompanied to court by a family member, has not yet pleaded. Legal aid was granted.
The Children's Court has yet to consider if it will accept jurisdiction or send the case forward to the Circuit Court, which can impose lengthier sentences.
