Teenager attacked with bike chain in early hours in Manchester city centre

A teenager was struck with a bike chain in an early hours attack in Manchester city centre.

Police were called to the assault on Oxford Street just after 12.20am on Tuesday morning (March 30).

An 18-year-old man was attacked by another man with a bike chain, police said.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

There were no serious injuries in the incident.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing at this stage.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 12.25am on Tuesday 30 March 2021, police were called to reports of an assault on Oxford Street, Manchester.

"Enquiries have established that an 18-year-old man was attacked by a man with a bike chain.

"Emergency services attended and the victim was treated by the ambulance service. There were no serious injuries.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
