Teenager arrested on suspicion of Luke Fleming's murder in Salford

A teenager has been arrested in connection with the death a young man in Salford.

Luke Fleming, 20, was killed when he was 'deliberately' knocked of a motoribke.

He was a passenger on a bike being ridden by his friend when it was hit by a blue Fiat Sedici on a petrol station forecourt in Little Hulton.

His family , who abandoned the car and ran away.

Mr Fleming was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He bravely clung to life for six days before sadly passing away with his loved ones at his bedside.

A murder investigation was launched and a 20 year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was bailed pending further enquiries.

A second man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.

GMP said in a statement: "Yesterday, Saturday May 25, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion  of murder

"He remains in custody for questioning.   

"Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible."

Mr Fleming's 23-year-old pal, who was riding the bike and was also thrown from it, was located by officers later and treated for minor injuries.

Mr Fleming's devastated family issued an appeal via the Manchester Evening News for anyone with information to come forward.

"It was not Luke's bike and he was not driving," his sister Kate said.

"He was the passenger. We have been told there were three occupants in the car.

"They hit the bike with the car, then got out of the car and started to kick Luke as he was on the floor. They wanted to hurt him - the intent was there."

She added: "They wanted to hurt him - and they killed him.

"They wanted to do what they did. If anyone has any information, we want them to come forward to ease the family's pain.

"We just want justice. We want justice for Luke."

She paid tribute to her brother who she said was a "loving family man" with "an infectious smile."
