Teenager arrested following West Belfast stabbing incident

A teenager has been arrested after a man was reportedly stabbed in West Belfast.

Officers were called to the scene on the Woodbourne Crescent area at around 5.30pm on Saturday evening, May 2 following reports that a man had been stabbed in the abdomen after being attacked by three men.

The victim, aged 26 was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries and his condition is currently described as stable.

A 17-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was interviewed and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1322 02/05/20. 

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
