Teenager arrested after woman threatened with BB gun in broad daylight

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a woman was threatened with a BB gun in Bolton.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Tig Fold Road, Farnworth, at around 1.30pm on Sunday (July 5).

A woman in her 50s was threatened with a BB gun and received minor injuries. According to police, the woman has also been left "shaken" by the incident.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 1:30pm on Sunday 5 July 2020, police were called to Tig Fold Road in Bolton to reports of a disturbance.

"Enquiries have established that a woman aged in her 50's had been threatened with a BB gun.

"The woman received minor injuries and was left understandably shaken."

Manchester Evening News has contacted the North West Ambulance Service for comment.
