A teenager was arrested after reportedly spitting on a police officer's face in Renfrewshire.
Cops rushed to Erskinefauld Road in Linwood following the report of a disturbance.
It is claimed an 18-year-old man then became hostile towards police and started shouting abuse following the incident, which happened at around 10.40pm on Sunday night.
Police said the thug then spat in the direction of an officer’s face.
The teenager allegedly struggled with officers when they tried to arrest him and he was eventually taken into custody.
He has been charged with police assault, resisting arrest and breach of the peace.
No-one was injured during the incident and the suspect is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
