A TEENAGER has been arrested after a man was 'stabbed' in an underpass.
We previously reported that police and paramedics were called to Marmion Road in Cumbernauld on Friday evening following an alleged assault.
It is understood that a stabbing took place.
Cops have now confirmed that an 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
He has been released and will appear in court later this month.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 20-year-old man having been assaulted in the Marmion Road area of Cumbernauld around 8.30pm on Friday, June 30, 2023.
“The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
“An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and has been released on an undertaking to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Friday, July 28, 2023.”
