A 16-year-old has been arrested after a man was found dead on an Edinburgh street in the middle of the night.
Officers were called out to reports of a man injured at Great Junction Street, near the bottom of Leith Walk, at around 2.10am on Tuesday, September 2.
A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that the man’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. However, formal identification has yet to take place.
Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Pleasance of the Major Investigations Team said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries as our investigation continues, and we would urge anyone with concerns to speak to them.”
