Teenager arrested after man, 25, stabbed in Prestwich

A teenager has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Prestwich.

Several police and ambulance vehicles were scrambled to Kings Close just before 12.30pm on Saturday (October 23).

GMP said a 25-year-old man was stabbed by another man at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The attacker fled the scene after the 'isolated, domestic incident', police said.

An 18-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

He remains in custody.

Following the incident, neighbours reported seeing 'five police cars and a riot van' turn up on the quiet street.

There were also reports of armed police responding to the incident.

"It was a bit of a surprise", one resident said. "I’ve never seen so many police in one place.

"It looked like they were going in a house at the end of the street."

Another said: "I’ve lived here for two years and this is the first time there’s been anything like this.

"It was a surprise. I couldn’t stop looking out of my window."

Another resident added: "There was an ambulance then another turned up, then four or five police cars and a riot van.

"I could hear a woman shouting."
