Teenager arrested after late-night robbery in Linwood sees person hospitalised

A teenager has been injured in an alleged robbery that took place at a shop in Linwood.

The incident saw police and emergency services descend on a row of shops on Clippens Road in the early hours of this morning following reports of a robbery on the street, the Paisley Daily Express reports.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery.

The 18-year-old was taken to Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley for treatment and later discharged.

A police cordon was put in place near to a Nisa Local and a Day-Today store on Clippens Road in relation to the incident, with officers remaining at the scene until later this morning.

The 17-year-old has been released on undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.

A spokesman from Police Scotland said: "A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery of an 18-year-old man which occurred around 12.15am on Saturday, 13 March, 2021 on Clippens Road in Linwood.

"The 18-year-old man was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and later discharged. The 17-year-old has been released on undertaking to appear at court at a later date."
