Teenager arrested after gardai seize cocaine and cannabis worth €42,000 in Drogheda, Co Louth

Gardai have arrested a teenager following the seizure of cocaine and cannabis worth €42,000 in Co Louth.

As part of Operation Stratus gardai searched a house in the Hill View area of Drogheda town on Sunday.

During the raid gardai recovered cocaine with an estimatedvalue of €20k along with cannabis valued at €22.

In a statement, gardai said: "On the 12th May 2019 as part of Operation Stratus Gardaí searched a house in the Hill View area of Drogheda town.

"During the course of the search Gardaí recovered Cocaine with an estimated street value of €20k along with Cannabis Herb valued at €22k (analysis pending).

"Other paraphernalia including weighing equipment and documentation was also seized.

"During a follow up operation a man aged his late teens was arrested in the Drogheda area. He is currently detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Drogheda Garda Station and can be held for up to 24 hours.

"Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow."
