Teenager arrested after Dublin robbery and assault

A man in his late teens has been arrested following a robbery and assault that happened in St Stephen's Green yesterday.

Shortly after 1am on October 16, a man who was out walking was attacked, and a number of his possessions were taken.

The victim was taken to St James Hospital in an ambulance for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Following further enquiries, and while on patrol in Dublin 2 later that night, Gardaí observed the suspect and arrested him on Fitzwilliam Street.

"He was taken to Pearse Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The stolen property was recovered by Gardaí and returned to the owner.

"The arrested man, aged in his late teens, has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning, Monday 18th October 2021 at 10.30am," added the spokesperson.
