A teenager has been arrested after being caught riding this moped in Gorebridge.
Police were called to the Lady Brae area of the village at around 12.15pm on Tuesday after the man was seen driving it around.
When officers arrived at the scene, and inspected the vehicle, the teen was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
Road policing teams took to social media to share a picture of the badly damaged vehicle, posting: "Dalkeith RP [roads police] were asked to give Midlothian Police a hand by examining this... mo-ped(?). After providing a short list of what wasn't illegal about it, the rider was charged with all the relevant offences and the bike seized."
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Officers were called to the Lady Brae area of Gorebridge at around 12.15 on 5 November. A teenager was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences."
