Teenager, 19, dies and three others seriously injured in Abergavenny crash

A 19-year-old woman has died following a crash in Abergavenny while others remain in a serious condition in hospital.

Rebecca Davies, from Goytre, who was a passenger, died in the crash while three others were seriously injured.

The incident happened at 8.05pm on Thursday, January 2 on the A4042 between Goytre and Llanellen and involved a pink Peugeot and a blue Suzuki.

Ms Davies, who was a rear passenger in the Suzuki, died after she was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.

A 52-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, also from Goytre, sustained serious injuries and are in a serious but stable condition at Nevill Hall Hospital.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 31-year-old woman from the Cardiff area, sustained serious injuries and is in a critical condition at the same hospital.

The Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene.

Gwent Police asked that any drivers who were in the area at the time of the crash check for any dashcam footage that may help their investigation.
