Teenager, 17, injured in large-scale gang fight in Fernhill

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was injured in a large scale fight in Fernhill involving a gang of teens.

Officers were called to a report of a group of young men involved in an altercation near to Burnside Road, in Fernbrae Meadows, last night at around 6.50pm (Friday, April 19.)

The 17-year-old was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment to the wound.

Detective Constable Gary Milligan, Cambuslang CID, said:

 “This incident involved a number of young men and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch with us.



“It took place in Fernbrae Meadows, a newly developed area on an old golf course, where a number of people would have been out for a run or walking their dogs in the evening.



“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen a group hanging around the area to get in touch with us so we can establish exactly what happened here.”
