A Georgia girl is in custody on charges that she shot and killed her mom and stepfather. The teen then delivered a tearful funeral eulogy and shared TikTok posts about their deaths.
According to Georgia police, on February 20, 2025, then 16‑year‑old Sarah Grace Patrick shot and killed her mother, Kristin Brock (41), and stepfather, James Brock (45), in their Carroll County, Georgia home. Patrick’s then‑5-year‑old sister found the bodies in their bedroom, and Sarah reportedly placed the 911 call that morning.
Investigators cited “mountains of physical and digital evidence” and conducted thousands of hours of interviews involving local, state, and federal agencies.

According to the Atlanta Black Star, in early March, approximately two weeks after her parents’ deaths, Patrick delivered a tearful eulogy at their memorial service held at Catalyst Church in Carroll County. She stated, “I just wanted to say goodbye to my mama and James since we never got the chance to… I never once thought you wouldn’t be here,” describing her mother as a “star from up above” and telling her that “I will always be her sunshine.”
She also mentioned they had “saved a seat” for her in heaven, as they had “saved a seat for me in this very church.”
Law enforcement later highlighted that her emotional speech was a key piece of evidence in the case. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Hulsey noted investigators believed the eulogy could have been an attempt to deflect suspicion, calling it “Clue No. 1” in linking her to the crime.
Authorities reviewed the video and transcripts of her remarks while building the timeline and motives surrounding the February 20 shootings.
Patrick’s TikTok posts
Meanwhile, in the weeks after the shootings, Patrick posted several TikTok videos appearing to grieve publicly, with requests for prayers, emotional breakdowns, and tearful reflections. In one video shared about a week post-shooting, she pleaded, “Please send prayers for healing,” and added, “I should prob delete later.” Officials have flagged these posts as “unusual,” given the timing and intensity of her online emotional displays.
Moreover, Patrick reportedly reached out to true-crime TikTok creators, urging them to feature her family’s case. She reportedly contacted the creator, “Allegedly Reportedly,” messaging on June 3: “Search up Brock case.”
In her communications, she claimed she didn’t hear anything concerning the night of the murders, only the faint sound of her stepfather’s LVAD machine at least 10 minutes before she went to bed.
Authorities have noted that these posts and outreach efforts are being scrutinized as possible evidence of premeditation or, at the very least, an attempt to control the narrative.
The investigation is ongoing
In their update on the case, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said, “Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community that rallied for justice and never gave up hope.”
Authorities charged Patrick as an adult with two counts each of murder and aggravated assault. She remains behind bars without bond. No clear motive has emerged, and officials have stated additional arrests are possible as the investigation is ongoing.
