Teenage pedestrian taken to Newcastle RVI after being hit by car in Kenton

A teenager has been taken to hospital after being involved in a car crash in Newcastle.

Emergency services were called to Kenton shortly before 8.30pm on Friday after a teenage pedestrian was involved in a crash near to Edgefield Avenue. Ambulance crews arrived on scene and transported the teen to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 8.27pm to a road traffic incident outside Edgefield Avenue in Newcastle involving a car and a teenage pedestrian. We sent one emergency ambulance crew and took the patient to RVI for further treatment."
