Teenage pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by car in east end

A teenager has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in the east end of Glasgow.

The incident occurred at about 9am this morning on Old Shettleston Road and involved a 17-year-old male pedestrian and one car.

The 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital, where his injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Police Scotland have confirmed that they were in attendance at the scene of the crash.

A spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 9.10am this morning following a crash involving a car and pedestrian.

"A 17-year-old male has been taking to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
