Missing teenage mum with four-week-old baby 'walks into a police station'

A missing teenage mum and her four-week-old baby have been found after they reportedly walked into a police station this morning.

Kashalea Storm James, 18, and newborn son Jayden were at the centre of an urgent police appeal.

The young mum was last seen on Friday in Liverpool going to a friend's house.

Her mum Leanne Lewin claims Kashalea made it to her friend's but was then taken to the bus station "to meet a man".

However, Leanne today confirmed Kashalea and baby Jayden have now been found after walking into to a police station.

Leanne said: "I'd been told by police that she walked into a police station with the baby this morning.

"They said they are both safe and well."

Leanne, who is yet to be reunited with her daughter and baby, said she has been "out of her mind with worry" since their disappearance.

The mum also said that her baby grandson had a heart condition and had a hospital appointment he needed to be at.
She said: "I'm really happy they've been found. I just want to see her and give her a big hug and tell her that I love her.

"I've been going out of my mind with worry.

"I've been trying to phone her non-stop. I've sent her text messages and I've been in touch with her friends."

Hundreds of people shared appeals on social media to find the mum after she went missing and her mum even made a dedicated group for updates.

She added: "I made a Facebook group to try to help find her and I've had lots of support through that with people sharing posts on social media.

"All her friends and family have been helping too."

On Wednesday, February 18, Leanne said she spoke to her daughter for the last time via Instagram.

Leanne said: "She sent me a message on Instagram saying she'd see me tomorrow, with lots of kisses but I haven't heard from here since then."

The family say Kashalea's phone was then turned off.

Leanne said Kashalea, who has learning difficulties, had been living in Birmingham for the last year but had come home to Anfield to live with her grandmother on Monday, February 17.

CCTV images of Kashalea leaving her friend's house on February 21, were given by Leanne.

It's thought Kashalea went missing in the clothes she's pictured in - blue denim jeans, a black North Face coat and trainers.

Leanne described her daughter's disappearance as "completely out of character" and "very unusual behaviour".
