Teenage 'Grindr car-jacking' suspects arrested in Birmingham

Three teenage boys have been arrested in connection to multiple car-jacking robberies where victims were lured in by Grindr.

The trio, two aged 17 and one 16, were detained by West Midlands Police and are still in custody.

They were arrested on suspicion of robbery in the Bordesley Green area of Birmingham.

This comes after a number of victims were separately attacked and robbed by a group in Yardley after being contacted for potential dates.

These took place off Yardley Green Road on January 3 and 18 March then on Hob Moor Road last Sunday, March 24.

West Midlands Police has urged caution for people meeting on dating apps.

A statement said: "If you’re planning to meet someone you’ve met on any dating app, the safest place to meet is in a well-populated public area.

"Make sure you tell someone you trust where you are going."
