Teenage girl sexually assaulted on Glasgow train by man thought to be in his 60s

A witness appeal has been launched after a teenager was sexually assaulted by a man on a train travelling between Balloch and Airdrie railway stations.

The teenage girl was approached by a man on the 16:38 service towards Airdrie on Saturday, July 3. During the journey he sexually assaulted her and made inappropriate remarks towards her.

He got off the train at Charing Cross station at 5.30pm with a group of other men.

The man is described as a white man in his 60s, around 5’7 in height and of large build. He had grey, curly hair and was wearing a psychedelic print t-shirt with dark shorts and round sunglasses at the time, displaying tattoos with writing and stars.

At the time of the incident the service was very busy with passengers and officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it to assist their enquiries.
