Teenage girl sexually assaulted in Glasgow as cops ask female witness to come forward

Police probing reports of a teenager being sexually assaulted in Glasgow are urging witnesses to come forward.

The 19-year-old woman was allegedly attacked between 3.15am and 3.45am on Saturday, May 8.

The teen was near the roundabout junction between Dumbarton Road and Broomhill Drive, just off the Clydeside Expressway in the city's west end at the time of the incident.

Police would like to speak to one woman in particular who stopped officers near the roundabout at the time.

She left without providing details and cops think she may be able to provide information that would help in their probe.

Detective Inspector Mark McLennan said: "We're carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone with information which could help to come forward.

"In particular we would be keen to speak to a woman who stopped officers near the roundabout at the time.

"She left the area without leaving her details and we would be keen to speak further to her as she may have information which is important to our investigation.

"If you recognise yourself from this description or know who this woman is then please get in touch.

"You can call 101, quoting incident 2682 of May 8or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
