A police investigation is underway following reports that a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a field near Glasgow.
Officers rushed to the scene off Glen Doll Road in Neilston after the alarm was raised at around 9pm last night (June 16).
Local reports suggest there was a heavy police presence in the area following the incident, the Daily Record reports.
Police say enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing, and have appealed for anyone who may have information to contact them.
Detective Inspector Peter Crombie said: "Officers are investigating a report that a teenage girl was the victim of a sexual offence on land off Glen Doll Road in the Neilston area.
"The incident was reported around 9pm on Wednesday, 16 June.
"Enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing. "Anyone who may have information can call 101, quoting incident 3393 of June 16."
