Teenage girl killed in suspected shark attack in WA

A teenager has been killed in a suspected shark attack in Perth.

Police were called in relation to a potential shark attack near the Fremantle traffic bridge in North Fremantle about 3.45pm on Saturday.

Police said a 16-year-old girl was pulled from the Swan River with critical injuries.

Emergency personnel provided medical assistance to the victim who died at the scene from her injuries.

Fremantle detectives will prepare a report for the coroner.
