Teenage girl in serious condition in Glasgow hospital after being hit by car in Uddingston

Road policing officers in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a serious road crash in Uddingston.

The incident happened around 7pm on Friday night (February 11) on New Edinburgh Road when a teenage girl was struck by a black Audi car.

Emergency services attended and a 15-year-old girl was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment. She was subsequently transferred to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where her injuries are described as serious.

Constable Andrew Coutts, of Motherwell Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or was in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch.

“I would also ask if there are any other motorists with possible dashcam footage or anyone with information that may help with our investigation to contact police.”

Police can be contacted on 101, quoting incident number 3145 of 11 February.
