Teenage girl hospitalised after being 'spiked' at Glasgow nightclub

A teenager had to be taken to hospital after being 'spiked' in Glasgow.

The 18-year-old posted online about her frightening experience at Nomad nightclub on Friday.

The teen said her friend found her collapsed on the floor of the venue's toilets and immediately raised the alarm.

She was taken to hospital for treatment is still in disbelief that "we are living in a world where stuff like this happens."

It is not known if the victim believes she was spiked by injection or another method, reports the Daily Record.

After the horrific ordeal, a close family member of the girl also took to social media to warn others to remain vigilant amid a rise in spiking cases across the country.

This incident comes just one week after cops launched a probe into "several reports" of spiking at the University of Glasgow's Queen Margaret Union.

Other women have also reported being targeted in Stirling, Edinburgh, and Dundee in recent weeks.

Some victims have said they were spiked using injections and woke up with red marks on their bodies following nights out.

A spokesperson for Nomad said: "Nomad is aware of an alleged incident and take any allegation of spiking seriously.

"We are committed to doing everything we can to create a safe environment for all of our customers.

"Police Scotland are investigating and we will cooperate fully.

"However, whilst the investigation is ongoing it would not be appropriate to comment further."

Police Scotland have been contacted by the Daily Record for comment.
