Teenage girl from Manchester who went missing in Spain has been found safe and well

A teenage girl from Manchester who went missing in Spain has been found safe, Spanish authorities have said.

Fifteen-year-old Emina IIora Alice Winterbotton disappeared from Palma de Majorca three weeks ago, on August 31 and had not been seen since.

It is thought that Emina is originally from Manchester and now lives in Palma with her family.

Her parents reported her missing after she failed to return home, prompting police to issue an urgent appeal for information about her whereabouts.

Emina was found in the WiFi park in central Palma on Wednesday (September 23), MailOnline reports .

Missing persons' charity SOS Desaparecidos told MailOnline on Thursday: “Emina was located in good condition and her disappearance alert deactivated ... She is safe and well.”

The website reports that specialist officers from the National Police are interviewing Emina about where she spent the last three weeks.

A spokesman for Majorca's National Police told MailOnline: “The girl that went missing in Majorca was found on Wednesday afternoon and the search has been called.

“Officers are still continuing to make inquires about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance but no arrests have been made in connection with this incident so far.”

Her discovery comes not long after Spanish police issued an appeal describing her case as ‘disturbing and of the highest priority’.
