Teenage girl assaulted near Glasgow canal in early morning Boxing Day attack

A police investigation is underway after a teenager girl was assaulted in Glasgow.

Officers raced to the Forth and Clyde Canal at Firhill after the alarm was raised at around 5am on Thursday.

One local saw a police van and second cop car arrive at alongside the canal on Thursday morning.

Police say enquiries are ongoing and they are 'following a definite line of enquiry'.

A spokeswoman from the force told the Record. "Police are carrying out an investigation following a report that a teenage girl was assaulted near the canal at Firhill, Glasgow at around 5am this morning Thursday, December 26 2019.

"Enquiries are ongoing and officers are following a definite line of enquiry."
