Teenage girl arrested after schoolboy allegedly assaulted in Scots park

A teenage girl has been arrested after a 12-year-old schoolboy was allegedly attacked in a Scots park.

We told how police had launched a probe after the youngster was assaulted at Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Saturday evening.

A 14-year-old girl has now been charged in connection with the incident.

Police say a report will be sent to the Youth Justice Management Team.

Their enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following a report of a 12-year-old boy being assaulted in Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy, around 6pm on Saturday, 1 May, a 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"A report will be sent to the Youth Justice Management Team. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
