Teenage girl airlifted from Llyn y Fan Fach beauty spot with severe leg injuries

A teenager was airlifted to hospital from the Llyn y Fan Fach beauty spot on the Black Mountain with severe leg injuries.

The girl was in a group of 12 on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition when she was hurt.

Western Beacons Mountain Rescue & Brecon Beacons Mountain Rescue volunteers attended and the girl was airlifted to hospital by the Coastguard.

A spokesman said the girl had "sustained a severe leg injury and was unable to get off the hill".

Llyn y Fan Fach is on the Black Mountain in Carmarthenshire in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
