Teenage girl, 14, knocked down and killed in tragic St Helens crash

A 14-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in St Helens on Saturday night.

Officers were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Blackbrook Road at about 9.50pm, according to Merseyside Police.

The girl was taken to hospital where she later died.

Two men, ages 18 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They remain in custody for questioning and police are appealing for any witnesses to the tragedy.

A force spokesman said: “Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 14-year-old girl, was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

“Her family have been informed and are being supported at this time.”
