Teenage girl, 14, dies after being hit by car in Moston... a man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving

A 14-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a car in Moston.

Emergency services were called to Lightbowne Road on Monday morning to reports of a hit and run.

The girl suffered serious injuries after being struck by a BMW at around 8.15am, and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police have sadly confirmed that the girl has now died as a result of her injuries.

Kevin Pryce, 45, of Quail Street, Oldham has been charged in connection with the collision.

He faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured, failing to stop/failing to report a road traffic collision and driving otherwise in accordance with a license.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today.

Police say the teenager had been crossing the road when she was struck by the vehicle.

Police taped off Lightbowne Road, as well as nearby Nuthurst Road and Kenyon Lane in Moston for several hours on Monday.
