Teenage boys injured after gang fight with group of men in the street

Teenage boys were left injured after a gang fight in the street with a group of men.

The boys were among a group of teens who became involved in a row with the adults on Ashdale, in Huyton.

Shortly after 3pm on Thursday, police were called to the area to investigate after reports the boys had been attacked.

Both boys suffered cuts, swelling and scratches to their body and one also suffered a head injury during the incident.

It is believed that the group of men fled the scene in a van before officers arrived and witnesses are now being asked to come forward.

A police cordon was also erected around a house on Roby Road, just metres from where the fight happened, and officers could be seen coming and going from the home.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were contacted at 3.10pm today, Thursday 30 July, following reports of an altercation between a group of teenagers and a group of males on Ashdale in Huyton.

"During the incident it was reported that two teenage boys were assaulted by the males.

"The boys suffered cuts, swelling and scratches to the body and one sustained a head injury during the incident.

"The group of males are believed to have left the area in a van before patrols arrived.

"Enquiries are currently being carried out in the local area."
