Teenage boy tragically killed after colliding with a bus near Dublin Airport

A teenage motorcyclist has tragically died after he collided with a bus while near Dublin Airport.

The heartbreaking incident happened in the St Margaret's area of north Dublin earlier this evening.

Gardai are currently at the scene, while the road has been closed off with local diversions in place.

A spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision in the St. Margaret's area, Co. Dublin which occurred this evening, Sunday 23rd August 2020.

"The collision involved a bus and occurred at the junction of the R108 and R122.

"A male teenage youth received fatal injuries during the collision.

"The scene is currently preserved for forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.

"Investigations are ongoing. Updates to follow."
