Teenage boy threatened at knifepoint in broad daylight in Gateshead

A teenage boy was threatened at knifepoint by a gang of youths in Gateshead.

Northumbria Police received the report about the terrifying incident on the Beacon Lough estate at around 4.30pm on Monday.

Three offenders are believed to have threatened to kick the teenager before pulling out a knife and demanding money.

The victim was left shaken but uninjured in the incident.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm we received a report that a teenage boy had been threatened with a knife on the Beacon Lough estate.

"The victim was not injured and has since been spoken to by police but did not want to take the matter any further.

"Officers would still like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or to anyone who knows the three male teenagers responsible."

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting log 588 08/04/19.
