Teenage boy seriously injured after 'stabbing' inside Glasgow train station

A teenage boy has been stabbed at a Glasgow train station and rushed to hospital.

Local residents shared images and videos showing a large police presence outside High Street Station this afternoon.

Official sources told The Mirror the incident involved a stabbing.

In a statement, Police Scotland said the teen was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the incident at 3.45pm.

A local resident passing the scene said they spotted three ambulances and 10 police cars.

The incident happened inside the station and Police Scotland confirmed the victim was not hit by a train.

A criminal probe is now underway.

Cops cordoned off the road to give emergency services access to the scene, but the area has since reopened for traffic.

Police urged anyone with relevant information to contact them.

Scotrail - whose trains run through the station - advised customers to use alternative routes to get home after the station was shut down.

All services were made to bypass the station and the rail company said they were working with the emergency services.

Scotrail refused to comment further on the nature of the incident.
