Teenage boy seriously injured after stabbing in Asda car park

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in an Asda car park.

Police were called to the scene at around 7pm tonight following the knife attack on Stanley Grove in Longsight.

A spokesman for GMP said the victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation has been launched.

A scene remains in place at the car park, eyewitnesses confirmed.

Photos from the scene showed a number of police vehicles in the car park.

The area had been cordoned off.

A GMP spokeswoman said: "Shortly after 7.10pm on Saturday 30 January 2021, police were called to reports that a boy had been stabbed in the car park at Asda on Stanley Grove in Longsight.

"Emergency services attended and a teenage boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a stable condition receiving treatment.

"No arrests have currently been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"A scene remains in place."
