The mother of a young boy who was savaged by a pack of vicious dogs was left shocked after finding out that her son had gone to school following the attack.
Speaking to host Katie Hannon on Liveline, Dublin mam Christina explained how the group of aggressive animals are allowed to roam around the area without collars.
Her son Alex, 14, was walking to school in Coolock last Thursday morning when the dogs charged towards him.
She told Liveline how the main dog "eyeballed" her son before running at him along with the other dogs.
Alex began to run too but the dogs caught up to him.
She said: "Two dogs started biting his legs, hanging out of either leg while the other four were barking and nipping at him."
A man coming from the opposite direction spotted Alex and yelled at the dogs giving the frightened boy enough time to run away.
The boy had washed the blood from the marks in school but his mother immediately brought him to the doctor.
Alex's right leg had four deep bite marks, his left leg had two bites and the back of his left knee had a puncture mark.
She added: "He was given penicillin antibiotics for a week. When I called the gardai about the incident, they said they had had numerous complaints about the dogs."
But, when Alex was walking home around lunchtime on Monday, he was shockingly attacked by the same dogs again.
And this hasn't been the only instance of a young person being targeted in the area by the cruel canines.
A young girl received minor bite injuries from a dog in the exact same area on Friday, September 13.
During the programme on RTE Radio 1, a statement was sent in from the Gardai which read:
"Gardaí in Coolock responded to two separate incidents regarding dog offences on 13th September and 16th September in Grove Lane, Coolock.
"Gardai maintain a cooperative relationship with the dog warden regarding incidents such as these.
"On September 17, Coolock Gardai in liaison with the dog warden seized two dogs at an address at Grove Lane."
