Teenage boy rushed to hospital after being knocked down on his bike by van

A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being knocked down on his bike by a van.

The crash happened on Seymour Street in Denton just before 8am this morning (Thursday).

A van collided with a bike, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said.

The cyclist - a 15-year-old boy - was taken to hospital from the scene.

No arrests have been made, GMP said.

Seymour Street was partially blocked off after the crash at the junction with Manchester Road South.

The crash has now been cleared.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the NWAS said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving a van and a cyclist at 7.57am.

"A teenage boy has been taken to hospital."

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called to a report of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a cyclist on Seymour Street, at the junction of Holland Street, in Denton just after 8am yesterday (3 February 2022).

"Emergency services attended and a 15-year-old was injured and taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or serious.

"No arrests have been made - enquiries are on-going."
